We know how to hustle – we've been doing it most of our lives.
We've been taught to push through, suck it up, keep on going. And so we have.
We've also seen ourselves do it in motherhood – showing up on little sleep, getting up for the seventeenth time that night, getting through the day on coffee and hope.
In my teachings, I call this the ‘grit' – the resilience, courage and determination it takes to keep on going when it feels almost impossible.
Our world celebrates the ‘grit'. We are praised for our strength in the face of adversity, our hustle, our Super Woman status.
But living in an endless state of grit is not possible – or healthy. And what does that look like?
In this episode, I reflect on grit and grace, and what I've had to learn about both over the past 12 months. And just how hard it is for us, as women and as mothers, to let go of our attachment to the hustle.
I'm a matrescence activist - here to revolutionise the way you feel about yourself as a mama, and transform the way the world values and supports all mothers, everywhere.
Understanding what matrescence is and how to navigate it is like being
handed a map.
Once you've got the map, the journey gets easier... and really, really exciting. Because it’s the making of you.
Get your Matrescence Map here - a six-page ebook which will empower you to understand why you feel the way you do, and the first steps to take.
